Use the following guidelines to set up Attendance Notification Criteria for calculating the HB 410 absence threshold 42hours in a month without an excuse. Students meeting this criteria are considered chronic truants.

Notification Group | Select the Notification Group you defined for House Bill 410. |
Processing Order | Order in which this criteria record will be processed by the Attendance Notifications Calculation relative to other criteria in the Notification Group. This is an ordinal number, with 1 signifying highest priority. Organize criteria as follows, from highest priority to lowest:

Send Communications | Select this box, indicating this record is used to generate letters and notifications. |

Include Student Attendance | Select whether the Criteria record applies only to the selected building or if it should count student absences in prior enrollment buildings for the dates you process through the Attendance Criteria Calculation. If you select Y - From All Buildings, please verify the following codes are defined consistently across your buildings:

Include Shared Attendance | Select whether the Attendance Criteria Calculation should add a student's shared attendance hours from buildings other than the enrollment building. The shared attendance information is entered on the student HB410 page. The calculation can add this time to the student's Day Totals absence time when run for this Criteria record.

Maximum Count | Set the maximum value to one minute less than the cumulative yearly absence threshold for unexcused absences, 4319. |

At Risk panel
Fields | Description |

At Risk | Select this box to indicate a student meeting this criteria should have at risk status updated for the associated At Risk Reason. |
At Risk Reason | Select the At Risk Reason you defined for this HB 410 absence threshold. |
Duration of Status | Choose how long a student keeps the at risk status after absences meet this criteria. At the end of the indicated duration, the student's at risk status expires. Next time you run the Attendance Notification Calculation, the At Risk Reason no longer displays on the student's At Risk Detail page. You can set the duration to a specific number of regular calendar days, a specific number of school membership days, a current duration, or the next occurrence of a duration. Available durations are based on Registration Marking Period Setup. (Administration > Registration Setup > Calendars > Marking Periods) |
Number of Days | Enter the number of calendar days or school membership days before the student's calculated at risk status expires for this criteria record. |
