Powerschool SIS: Staff Sections Selection Criteria Updates

The selection criteria have been updated to ensure consistency with the PEIMS interchanges:

Updated Service ID Criteria:

• Service IDs must not match any Staff Service IDs ('SAXXXXX', 'SEXXXXX', 'SRXXXXX', 'SSXXXXX') or Local-Credit Course IDs ('8XXXXXX', '9XXXXXX').

Class or Stored Grade Record Criteria:

• Fall:

  • Non-Campus Based Instruction Courses must have a value of '00', '04', '06', or remain unspecified.

  • Must be in session on the Fall Snapshot date, which is the last Friday of October.

• Class-Roster Winter:

  • The Explanation Code must not be 'L' or '3'.

  • Must be in session on the Class Roster Winter Snapshot date, which is the last Friday of February.

• ECDS:

  • Must be a Homeroom PK or KG Section.

  • Must be in session within the range of ECDS BOY (PK and KG) Start and End Dates, or ECDS EOY (PK only) Start and End Dates.

  • These date ranges are configurable under Profile Settings in DEX.

Stored Grade records will generate only Master Schedule records and will not generate Staff Section records.

Service IDs:

• Must not be one of the Staff Service IDs ('SAXXXXX', 'SEXXXXX', 'SRXXXXX', 'SSXXXXX') or Local-Credit Course IDs ('8XXXXXX', '9XXXXXX').

Class or Stored Grade Record Criteria:

1. SUMR:

   • Explanation Code must not be 'L' or '3'.

   • Must be a High School Credit Course or TxVSN Non-Campus Based Instruction Course ('04' or '05').

   • The student must either have a Final Grade or have stayed until the last day of class. (Course Completion is true)

   • The Course Attempt Result will be calculated based on the passing marks if there is a grade record. Otherwise, the student will get:

     • 09 if the course is a High School credit course

     • 13 if the course is a non-high school credit course

2. EXYR:

   • Explanation Code must be 'R'.

   • Must be a Dual Credit course, a College Preparatory course, or a High School Career Tech course.

   • The begin date must be after the last day of the term.

• Otherwise, it will retain the original location code.

A new dyslexia screening exception reason codeset has been added under descriptor downloads, enabling the publishing of dyslexia screening exception reason when the dyslexia risk code is "03".
