Discipline Setup

Discipline Validation Tables

Menu path: Select Administration from the main menu, select General Setup submenu, select District, and then select Validation TablesChoose New York State Reporting for Applications and select Discipline for Validation Table.

For the VADIR (Violent and Disruptive Incidents Reporting) and DASA (Dignity for All Student Acts) report options to work properly, please make sure that you have the following State Code Equivalent values set up in these validation tables.

Drugs

You can set up as many Drug and Alcohol codes as necessary for local reporting/tracking, but for State Reporting, you must use State Code Equivalent values of DRUG and ALCOHOL.

Incident Codes

You can set up your Incident Codes with whatever code you want, but in order for the incidents to be reported on the SSEC report properly, you need to use the following State Code Equivalent values.

For the SSEC report (Part 1, column 5a), only incidents with codes mapping to the following State Code Equivalent values get reported: VERBAL, INTIMIDATE, BULLY, and PHYSICAL.
In Part 1, column 5b, incidents are included when they map to the following State Code Equivalent values: CYABS and CYTHR.

Locations

You must have Location Codes with the following State Code Equivalent values to report incidents properly: TRANSPORT for incidents that occur on School Transportation, INSCHOOL for incidents that occur on school property and OUTSCHOOL for incidents that occur at a school-sponsored function off school property.

Set up your Weapon Codes with the following State Code Equivalent values for accurate SSEC reporting from eSchoolPlus: HANDGUN, RIFLE, KNIVES, CHEMICAL, OTHER. To indicate multiple firearms, assign the State Code Equivalent value MULTIFIRE. To indicate firearms other than a Handgun, Shotgun, or Rifle, use State Code Equivalent value OTHERFIRE.

Police Actions

Make sure the Police Action code you use to indicate Arrest also has the State Code Equivalent value of ARREST assigned.
