Create CEDARS Download/Extract (B)

For the 2025–2026 school year, updated the validation for Element B09 (Birth Date). An error will occur only when a student is 21 years old on or before August 31 and does not have an active IEP. Records with an active IEP will be accepted in the CEDARS submission.

Validation Tables (WA Restraint and Isolation)

In the Students Restrained or Isolated (S) file, for element S09 – Type of Restraint or Isolation, the following changes have been made in the WA Restraint and Isolation validation table:

• Codes made inactive:Code 9 – Restraint: Weighted BlanketsCode 17 – Restraint: Handcuffs (performed by law enforcement, arrest made)

• Description updated:Code 6 – changed from Handcuffs (performed by law enforcement, no arrest made) to Handcuffs (performed by law enforcement)

Updated Business Rule: If Element H17 – Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) Code Number has a value, then Element H31 – Industry Recognized Certifications Earned must also contain data. If Element H17 has a value and Element H31 is empty or null, an error message will be displayed indicating that data is required.
Error message: Industry Recognized Certifications Earned should have a value when the Element CIP Code has a value for Course WELD101 Section 01 - Introduction to Welding in School Year-Term: 2026-1 for Building 100.

For the Non-Traditional Student Credit Attempt (T) download, the data elements T19 (Sequence) and T20 (Sequence Group) have been deprecated and will no longer be collected through CEDARS, starting with the 2025–26 school year.

These elements are the last and second-last fields in the current file layout. The columns will remain in the file as headers only, with no data populated for the inactivated elements.

For the Student Schedule (E) download, the data elements E12 (Letter Grade), E13 (Credits Attempted), E14 (Credits Earned), E15 (Industry Recognized Certifications Earned), and E16 (Student Work Based Learning Activities) have been deprecated and will no longer be collected through CEDARS, starting with the 2025–26 school year.

These elements are the last five fields in the current file layout. The columns will remain in the file as headers only, with no data populated for the inactivated elements.

For the Course Catalog (D) download, data elements D18 (Sequence) and D19 (Sequence Group) have been deprecated and will no longer be collected through CEDARS, starting with the 2025–26 school year.

These elements will remain in the file layout as the last and second-last fields. The columns will remain in the file as headers only, with no data populated for the inactivated elements.
