Electronic Signatures in HAC

Introduced the electronic signatures feature so Guardians can sign Report Cards (RC) and Interim Progress Reports (IPR) electronically in Home Access Center (HAC), instead of signing manual copies, thus making the process more efficient.

• Enable digital acknowledgment for Report Cards and Interim Progress Reports.

• Track acknowledgements in eSchoolPlus and Home Access Center.

• Provide:

  • Alerts for missing signatures.

  • Admin visibility into unsigned records.

  • Configurable notifications for guardians and students.

• Include opt-out options and alert emails.

• Enhance parent accountability.

• Improve communication between schools and parents.

• Reduce paper-based acknowledgments.

• Ensure compliance with district and state requirements/policies.

Multi-Factor Authentication

eSchoolPlus, Teacher Access Center (TAC), and HAC are enhanced to support an email-based Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) process. Each application/user type has a separate configuration to enable this feature. This only applies to sign-ins using the built-in login functionality. If the district is utilizing an SSO to access the software and wishes to configure MFA, that should be configured on the Identity Provider side.

MFA can be enabled independently or used alongside Single Sign-On (SSO). This flexibility allows districts to choose the right security approach for different areas of the system. MFA adds an extra verification step that:

• Protects against compromised passwords and phishing attacks.

• Strengthens access security for sensitive system functions.

• Supports compliance with state-mandated security standards.

eSchoolPlus/Special Programs Integration

The Special Programs option on the eSchoolPlus District page indicates whether the district is using Special Programs for 504 only, IEP only, or both. Both are the default option. This will allow customers to indicate that they only use 504’s and do not use the full IEP functionality, and that eSchoolPlus is still the source for IEPs.

eSchoolPlus/Special Programs Integration - SSO

Implemented HAC/TAC SSO from eSchoolPlus to Special Programs. To configure SSO, the District page shows four SPED SSO role checkboxes: Administrators, Teachers, Students, and Guardians.

Special Programs Integration/Personal Page

When a district integrates with Special Programs but is only using it for 504s (not IEPs), implemented a way to access the IEP flag field to view the student alerts. The Personal page will allow editing of the IEP flag if the district is using 504 only. The new integration type (504 Only, IEP Only, or Both) is available on the District Definition page in the Integration. This field will default to Both for existing setups, as that is what is currently available. If switched to 504 Only, the Personal page would allow editing of the IEP field.
