Questions to Determine Scenario for Setups
Compare your answers to the following chart to determine the scenario that applies to the building:
- Does the building issue a Semester of Final mark type for credit? Skip the remaining questions if the building issues credit on the Final.
- A semester mark is issued based on a marking period grade. If the building issues credit based on a semester mark but looks at a final mark to determine if the student can recover failed credit, the semester mark is the primary mark on which credit is issued. If a building issues credit on semester marks, it is valid to combine more than one local course into a state course.
- A final mark is issued only one time per year. Only one local course can be included in each state course.
- Does the building offer full-year courses?
- Yes, if any course in the building is a single course code for both semesters of a two-part course.
- No, if all courses have each semester of a course with a unique course code.
- Does the building use the Average Mark Rule?
- Yes, if the student fails a semester of the course, a student can receive full credit for a class based on the student's average . You can only use this option if you issue credit on a semester mark.
- No, if credit is issued based on the semester mark and an average is never checked.
- If you answered Yes to questions 2 and 3, answer the following question. Otherwise, skip this question. When a student switches sections of a full-year class at semester and does not trail marks between the classes, how does the building handle assigning credit? This situation applies to a building that issues credit on the semester mark, offers full year courses, and uses the Average Mark Rule.
- Calculate, if the system should calculate the Average Mark Rule.
- Manual, if a user in the building should manually override the credit.
