PLUS 360 Notifications
On this page:
PLUS 360 Notifications can alert eSchoolPlus users and staff members about events involving their students or specific actions they need to take on a student's behalf.
Refer to the Notifications Grid in Additional Resources for a list of the eSchoolPlus notifications and a grid describing who receives the notification.
Notifications Pages
The following pages and features allow you to set up and manage PLUS 360 Notifications options for your district.
District Notifications
The District Notifications Page allows a system administrator or authorized user to set up and update district-wide options for sending PLUS 360 Notifications when certain types of events occur in the system.
At the district setup level, the option you select in the Availability field determines which PLUS 360 Notifications are:
- Mandatory for all users in all buildings
- Optional and can be changed at the building level and user level
- Disabled for all users in all buildings
The PLUS 360 Notifications options you select in the District Notifications default when a new Building Notifications record is added to the system.
Note
If you delete the Building Notifications record for a building and then add a new record for that building, the values specified in the District Notifications will default for the new Building Notifications record.
For information about the district-level setup for PLUS 360 Notifications, refer to District Notifications Page.
Building Notifications
The Building Notifications Page allows a system administrator or authorized user to set up and update building-specific options for sending PLUS 360 Notifications when certain types of events occur in the system.
The Building Notifications page displays notifications your district has set to be Mandatory or Optional in the Availability field.
- Notifications that have been set as Mandatory on the District Notifications page cannot be disabled on the Building Notifications page.
- Notifications that have been set as Disabled on the District Notifications page do not display on the Building Notifications page or Notification Subscription page.
When the district temporarily disables PLUS 360 Notifications to run processes such as Year End Rollover, a message in bold red typeface displays to indicate which settings are currently disabled.
- When the district disables all PLUS 360 Notifications, red message text displays in the top section of the Building Notifications page.
- When the district disables notifications for a specific package, such as Registration Notifications, red message text displays in the Registration Notifications section of the Building Notifications page.
You can also disable all PLUS 360 Notifications or PLUS 360 Notifications for specific packages using the Building Notifications page. Users configured to receive notifications from other buildings will continue to receive notifications sent from those buildings.
For information about the building-level setup for PLUS 360 Notifications, refer to Building Notifications Page
Notification Subscriptions
The Notification Subscriptions page allows users to select the types of notifications they want to receive, as well as to configure additional notification options.
All users will receive notifications designated as Mandatory at the district or building level.
For notifications set to be Optional at the building level, users can:
- Select the "Subscribe" option to receive notifications in the PLUS 360 Notifications Viewer, or the "Subscribe With Email" option to also receive an email message of the notification.
- Select to receive an individual email message for each notification, or to receive all notifications bundled together in digest form, sent once daily at the time specified by your system administrator.
- Select to also receive instant notifications for high-priority events, in addition to receiving the notification in the PLUS 360 Notifications Viewer.
Certain notification types allow users to select a Watch List to receive the notifications only when events are triggered for students in the list, when applicable.
For more information, refer to Notification Subscriptions Page.
Temporarily Disabling Notifications
If your district or building temporarily turns off PLUS 360 Notifications, for example, during Year-End Rollover, users will not receive any notifications until the district or building once again enables notifications.
If you receive PLUS 360 Notifications in multiple buildings and notifications are temporarily turned off in one or more buildings, you will still be able to receive notifications from buildings in which PLUS 360 Notifications are enabled.
Effects of Enabling and Disabling Notifications
Prior to running processes that generate a large number of notifications, such as Year End Rollover and Scheduling processes, you can temporarily turn off PLUS 360 Notifications in the entire district or only in certain buildings. You can also select whether you want to disable notifications in all packages or only notifications for certain packages at either the district or building level.
You can use the District Notifications page to turn PLUS 360 Notifications off or on for all packages or only for certain packages in all buildings in the district.
- To turn PLUS 360 Notifications off or on at the district level, refer to the District Notifications Page.
You can use the Building Notifications page to turn notifications off or on for all packages or only for certain packages in a specific building in the district.
- To turn PLUS 360 Notifications off or on at the building level, refer to the Building Notifications Page.
When you disable PLUS 360 Notifications at the district or building level, a message displays in bold red text in the corresponding section on the Building Notifications page and on the Notification Subscription page to indicate where the notifications are disabled.
- If you disable all PLUS 360 Notifications on the District Notifications page, the message displays in the top section of the Building Notifications page and on the Notification Subscription page.
- If you disable all PLUS 360 Notifications on the Building Notifications page, the message displays in the top section of the Notification Subscription page.
- If you disable PLUS 360 Notifications only for the Registration package on the District Notifications page or on the Building Notifications page, the message displays in the Registration Notifications section on the Building Notifications page and on the Notification Subscription page.
Interactions between Notifications Setup Pages
The options specified on the setup and subscription pages determine how the Notifications options function and interact within the system. If you have specific questions about who can receive PLUS 360 Notifications or any troubleshooting questions, refer to the Notifications Quick Reference Grid and Troubleshooting Notifications.
Notifications District and Building Setup Interactions
The settings saved in the District Notifications determine the default notification options available in a new Building Notifications record.
- When you add a new building record, notification settings default from the District Notifications.
- If you delete a Building Notifications record for a building, and then add a new setup record for that building, the settings for the new record default from the District Notifications.
- Notifications disabled on the District Notifications page do not display on the Building Notifications page.
- Notifications that have been set as Mandatory on the District Notifications page cannot be disabled on the Building Notifications page.
- When you change a notification's Availability from Optional or Disabled to Mandatory in the District Notifications, the notification's Availability will be changed to Mandatory in the Building Notifications the next time the Building Notifications is saved (it is not an immediate update).
Once the settings are saved at the building or user subscription level, they will not be overridden by changes you make to the District Notifications Setup settings, except when you make a notification Mandatory at the district level.
If you disable a notification at the district level, it will not be disabled at the building level in any existing building setups, but it will be disabled by default in any new building setups added after you save your changes in the district setup.
Building Notifications and Notification Subscription Interactions
The settings saved in the Building Notifications determine the default notification options available for users to configure in the Notification Subscriptions Page.
Notes about changing a notification to Mandatory after users have already subscribed to that notification
If any users are already subscribed to receive a notification that has been changed from Optional to Mandatory at the District or Building level, those users will retain their original subscription settings, including their settings for the following options: Email/Daily Digest, Home Building Only, and Watch List.
Changing a notification from Optional to Mandatory affects only those users who were not already subscribed to the notification.
Users who were not previously subscribed to a notification that has been changed to Mandatory will then be subscribed to the notification using the defaults specified by the District or Building for that notification.
PLUS 360 Notifications Viewer
Previous versions of eSchoolPlus included the option to display the My Messages section on the eSchoolPlus My Home page. In the current version of eSchoolPlus, message notifications display in the PLUS 360 Notifications Viewer.

If your district uses IEPPLUS, IEPPLUS notifications your district has set as Optional can be modified at the building level. Additionally, the IEPPLUS Notifications section displays on the Notification Subscription page for authorized users to subscribe to IEPPLUS notifications.
- If you have an IEPPLUS login, you can select your IEPPLUS notification subscriptions directly in IEPPLUS. The Notification Subscription page will display either an option to link your logins in the PLUS 360 Application Link page or an option to manage your IEPPLUS notifications if you have already linked your logins.
- If you do not have an IEPPLUS login, you can select your IEPPLUS Notification subscriptions on the Notifications Subscription page.
