District Notifications Page

On this page:

Use this page to configure district-level settings for events that trigger PLUS 360 Notifications and to turn notifications off and on in the district prior to running processes such as Year End Rollover. The settings saved on this page default when you add a new Building Notifications Page.

Note

If you delete the Building Notifications record for a building and then add a new record for that building, the values specified in the District Notifications will default for the new Building Notifications record.

Notifications by User Type

Some notifications apply to both eSchoolPlus and TAC users, while others apply only to either eSchoolPlus or TAC users.

  • The Security Based Users column displays a checkbox for each notification that applies to eSchoolPlus users. This column also displays the specific security resource, if any, that is required for the user to receive the notification.
  • The Staff Responsibility column displays a checkbox for each notification that applies to TAC users.
  • If no checkbox displays in a column, the notification does not apply to that audience.

PLUS 360 Application Integration

PLUS 360 Notifications options configured for other PLUS 360 applications your district uses may be viewable in a display-only section on this page. For example, if your district has a license key for IEPPLUS, the IEPPLUS PLUS 360 Notifications configured for your district may display.

  • You can configure IEPPLUS PLUS 360 Notifications for your district only in IEPPLUS; however, you can modify optional IEPPLUS PLUS 360 Notification settings for your building in the Building Notifications page.
  • For additional information, refer to IEPPLUS Notification Subscription Options.

Menu Path: Administration > General Setup > PLUS 360 Notifications > District Notifications

Fields

PLUS 360 Notifications Options for the District

The options you specify in the District Notifications default into the Building Notifications page when you add a new building record.

  • Once settings are saved at the building or user subscription level, they will not be overridden by changes you make to the District Notifications Setup settings, except when you make a notification Mandatory at the district level.
  • If you disable a notification at the district level, it will not be disabled at the building level in any existing building setups, but it will be disabled by default in any new building setups added after you save your changes in the district setup.

Notifications Currently Turned On/Off (Page Level)

Click

(Additional options) at the top right part of the page to turn PLUS 360 Notifications off or on for the district.

    • You must turn on notifications for the district in order to be able to access and set up PLUS 360 Notifications options for each package.
    • Turning off notifications at this level will turn off all PLUS 360 Notifications for the district, overriding all PLUS 360 Notifications configured at the building level.
    • A message displays at the top of the page to indicate whether PLUS 360 Notifications are turned off or on at the district level.

PLUS 360 Notifications Options for Each Package

The PLUS 360 Notifications district-level options for each package are grouped together in separate panels on this page. The PLUS 360 Notifications options you select for each package on this page determine the settings for the PLUS 360 Notifications within each package that display on the Building Notifications page.

Each panel consists of the following:

  • the
     (Expand)/
     (Collapse) icon
  • the heading, featuring the name of the package; for example, Registration Notifications
  • the
(Additional options) icon to turn PLUS 360 Notifications off or on for the specific package in the panel
  • a columnar grid that allows you to configure the PLUS 360 Notifications options for the events available in each package

  • A message displays at the top of the panel to indicate whether PLUS 360 Notifications are turned off or on for the package at the district level.

Field

Description

NotificationDescription of the event that triggers this PLUS 360 Notification to be sent. These rules are created by PowerSchool.
Availability

Select:

Optional - to allow each building to select the Availability for this PLUS 360 Notification in the Building Notifications page; i.e., each building determines whether the notification is Optional, Mandatory, or Disabled.
Mandatory - to push this PLUS 360 Notification to all users with the appropriate security resource in all buildings. This cannot be changed at the building or user level; i.e., Mandatory PLUS 360 Notification cannot be turned off at the building level and users cannot "unsubscribe" from Mandatory notifications.
Disabled - to disable this PLUS 360 Notification at the building and user level. This cannot be changed at the building or user level.
Notes about changing a PLUS 360 Notification to Mandatory after users have already subscribed to that notification:

  • If any users are already subscribed to receive a PLUS 360 Notification that has been changed from Optional to Mandatory at the District or Building level, those users will retain their original subscription settings, including their settings for the following options: Email/Daily Digest, Home Building Only, and Watch List.
  • Changing a PLUS 360 Notification from Optional to Mandatory affects only those users who were not already subscribed to the notification.
  • Users who were not previously subscribed to a PLUS 360 Notification that has been changed to Mandatory will then be subscribed to the notification using the defaults specified by the District or Building for that notification.
Building Default Values

Some PLUS 360 Notifications have data entry fields or links in the Values column to allow you to set up filters and tasks.

  • If a data entry field displays in this column, you must specify the codes, criteria, or values that can trigger this type of PLUS 360 Notification. This becomes the default for this notification when a new Building Notifications record is created.

Select codes from the field's drop-down list, or click

(asterisk) to select all codes, then remove any that do not apply.

Nurse Visit Notification Time Example:

In order for this notification to be sent, a value (in minutes) must be entered in the Notification Time field in this column.

When a student checks in or out of an office visit, this notification is sent to subscribed teachers of the student's current class at check in/out time and teachers of the student's next class if the next class begins within the number of minutes specified in the Notification Time field on the Notifications Building Setup page.

For example, if 15 (minutes) is entered in the Notification Time field, and the nurse checks in a student at 1:00 pm, the system would send a notification to subscribed teachers of the student's classes that meet between 1:00 pm and 1:15 pm on that day.

  • If the nurse checks in the student at 1:00 pm, the "check in" notification would be sent to the teacher of any class that the student is scheduled to be in from 1:00 pm through 1:15 pm.
  • If the nurse checks out the student at 1:16 pm, the "check out" notification for that student would be sent to the teacher of any class that the student is scheduled to be in from 1:16 pm through 1:31 pm.
  • Depending on the check in/check out times, the same teacher may receive both the check in and check out notification; or the teacher of the student's current and next class may receive one or both of the notifications.
