Race and Ethnicity Categories

OCR's seven-category method has a procedure for collecting racial and ethnic data and a procedure for reporting racial and ethnic data. LEAs must meet both the requirements for collecting and reporting data. The following race or ethnicity is reported:

• Hispanic/Latino of any race

• American Indian or Alaskan Native

• Asian

• Black or African American

• Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander

• White

• Two or more races
