Generate HAC Credentials

Use this page to generate the credentials students and guardians need to access Home Access. You can generate login IDs and access codes or only access codes. 

To set up an account, the user will navigate to your Home Access Center URL. On the Sign In page, the user will click the Click Here to Register with Access Code link. Then, they will enter the access code provided to verify the information in eSchoolPlus and the birthdate for one of their student's. Then, they can define their password for Home Access to complete the account.

Login IDs will only be created for students for whom the HAC Access box is checked on the Student/Contact Relationship panel of the Student Addresses page and for guardians for whom the HAC Access box is checked on the Student/Contact Relationship panel of the Contact page.
This page also generates a data file that can be merged with Microsoft Word form letters to send login IDs and access codes to contacts. For more information on setting up credentials for HAC, refer to Setting Up Logins and Passwords for HAC.

Generate HAC Credentials

1. Select Registration > Utilities > Tools > Generate HAC Credentials.
2. Specify the utility options.
3. Click Run.
4. After the process runs, the results are stored in a data file that begins with HomeAccessPasswords.
   To locate the report, click Tasks/Reports on the Navigation bar. The log will be listed on the Tasks and Reports page's Reports panel.

Fields

Prompts Panel

Field	Description
Building List	Select to generate credentials for all buildings or for specific buildings. Select codes from the field's drop-down list, or click (asterisk) to select all codes, then remove any that do not apply.
Contact Types To Generate	Select Student, Guardian, or both Student and Guardian to specify the contacts for whom you want to generate HAC credentials. Select codes from the field's drop-down list, or click (asterisk) to select all codes, then remove any that do not apply.
Generate Logins/Access Codes	Specify what credentials you want to generate. Select: Generate Access Codes Only - to generate access codes for contacts with an existing login ID to require the users to go through the sign up process again. Caution: If a user already has a password, the current password will be removed; the user is required to use the access code to sign up process for Home Access again. Generate Logins and Access Codes - to generate login IDs and access codes for students and/or guardians who are defined to have HAC Access.
Generate Logins As	If you selected to generate login IDs, specify how login IDs should be created. Select: Email Address (jsmith@email.com) First Initial.Last Name (j.smith) First Initial.Middle Initial.Last Name (j.a.smith) First Name.Last Name (john.smith) Last Name.First Initial (smith.j) Last Name.First Initial.Middle Initial (smith.j.a) Last Name.First Name (smith.john) Note The minimum login ID length is 4 characters. The system cannot generate a login ID shorter than 4 characters.
Override Existing Logins	Checked if you want to overwrite existing logins. This field only applies if you selected to generate login IDs. If you only want to generate login IDs for students or guardians who do not have a login, leave this box unchecked.
