Create Assignments

You can create assignments from either the Assignment Details drawer of the Gradebook page or from the Assignments tab of the Gradebook Setup page.

Create an assignment from the Assignment Details drawer

  1. From Gradebook, click Entry to display the Gradebook Entry page.

  2. If you are in SBGB Summary Mode, click worddavd138028d45e7491841ead3655cd13f6c.png  for GB Entry mode or worddav951b472fba3f0d3b91006f98845c1371.png  for SBGB Detail mode on the mode selector worddav90e202bed74e65a89cdc5aca9c010e40.png .

  3. Click Add Assignment.

  4. Enter the details of the assignment. Note that all fields marked with an asterisk are required fields and must be populated prior to saving the assignment.

  5. If you need to add competency information or a rubric, click the icon next to Rubrics/Competencies. This allows you to add new or edit existing rubrics and/or competencies to the assignment. Refer to the Associating Competencies with Assignments and the Defining a Rubric topics for additional information.

  6. Click Save to save the assignment. You must save an assignment before you can add attachments to it.

  7. Click Close to close the Assignment Details drawer. A Save dialog box will warn you if you have not saved the assignment before closing the drawer.

You can define or attach rubrics and link competencies from the Assignment Details drawer. For information on linking competencies to an assignment, refer to the Associating Competencies with an Assignment topic. For information on defining rubrics or attaching rubrics to an assignment, refer to the Defining a Rubric topic.

Create a new assignment from the Gradebook Setup page

  1. From Gradebook, click Setup to display the Gradebook Setup page.

  2. If you need to update the class or marking period, click Change, and make your selections.

  3. Click the Assignments tab to open the Assignments grid.

  4. Click the Simple Rubric Mode.1.JPG on the toolbar to add a new row to the top of the grid.

  5. Enter the desired assignment information. Refer to the Assignment Field Descriptions for more information on assignment options.

  6. If you need to add competency information or a rubric, click the icon next to the R&C column. This allows you to add new or edit existing rubrics and/or competencies to the assignment. Refer to the Associating Competencies with Assignments and the Defining a Rubric topics for additional information.

  7. Click Delete Attachments from Gradebook Assignments.1.JPG  in the Actions column to save your changes. You can also click worddav3b4fb0a11210efc49236517931ebe973.png to discard any changes made to the assignment.
