Delete or Detach Rubrics

Use this procedure to delete a rubric or detach a rubric from a gradebook assignment.

Note: A rubric can only be detached from an assignment if no scores are currently entered for the assignment.

If the rubric was defined by you and is only associated with a single assignment, detaching the rubric from the assignment also deletes it from the database.

Detach a rubric from an assignment

If the rubric is attached to other assignments, this procedure will only detach the rubric from the selected assignment. If the rubric is only defined for this assignment, this procedure will both detach the rubric from the assignment and delete the it from the database.

1. From Gradebook, click Entry to display the Gradebook Entry page

2. If you are in SBGB Summary Mode, click  for GB Entry mode or  for SBGB Detail mode on the mode selector .

3. If you need to update the class or marking period, click Change, and make your selections.

4. Click the assignment header of the assignment to open the Assignment Details drawer.

5. Click the icon to the right of the Rubrics/Competencies label to open the Competencies and Rubrics pop-up. The displayed icon will either be  (rubric with no associated competencies) or  (rubric with associated competencies).

6. In the Use field, select No Rubric.
   The Use field cannot be changed if any scores have been entered for this assignment.

7. Click Save to close the Competencies and Rubrics pop-up. The Rubrics/Competencies icon in the Assignment Details drawer will change to display .

8. Click Save in the Assignment Details drawer.The rubric is detached from the assignment at this point.If the rubric was defined by you and is only associated with this assignment, the rubric is also deleted from the database.
