Preferences Page

Use this page to turn on the display of Quick Help, specify student search preferences, and select a theme.

Menu Path: Click on the user initials in banner > select Preferences

Quick Help

To display the Quick Help icon if help exists for a field, select the Show Quick Help checkbox. If a Quick Help icon displays for a field, you can click it to display a tooltip that provides a brief description of the field.

Student Search Settings

To search for students in your security building by default, select the Include Default Building checkbox. Otherwise, the system defaults to searching all students without limiting results to a building. To also apply the default when you use the Quick Search to find a student by their name, select Apply To Quick Search by Name.
To search for students with specified statuses by default, select the status codes. Otherwise, the system defaults to searching all students without limiting results by student status. To also apply the default when you use the Quick Search to find a student by their name, select Apply To Quick Search by Name.
To navigate directly to the detail for a student when only one student is returned, select the Single Student Detail checkbox. Otherwise, the system navigates to the Student List even when the search only finds one student.

Theme

The Theme panel enables you to create your own color scheme if the District Definition Page page is configured to enable setting themes. You can select either the system default or select colors for the Current Year Color, Prior Year Color, Next Year Color, and Summer School Color themes.

If users are not permitted to set themes, the Theme panel displays the theme defined on the District Definition page and does not permit changes.
If users can set themes, each field requires the selection of either a color or the system default setting. Click Preview to preview the selection on the current page.
To choose a color when the Default Settings checkbox is currently selected, clear the Default Settings checkbox. The system default settings are described in the Set Environment topic.
After saving settings in the Color Theme section, changes to the color scheme take effect for users the next time they log in or set their environment.
