Create Pre-ID File

Use this Utility to create pre-id files for the STAR and CELDT tests. Depending on what dropdown you select in the Test Program ID, the way you interact with the page changes. Currently the STAR options produce files following the 2013-2014 layout. The CELDT pre-ID file meets the 2017-2018 layout specifications.

As a prerequisite to using this utility, make sure you set up the Special Character Translate list (Administration > General Setup > District > Validation Tables > select California State Reporting > Special Character Translate). This table determines how the utility converts special characters for the following fields: Student's First Name, Student's Middle Initial, Student's Last Name, Delivery Name, and Student's Parent Name.

For many of the fields, the choice may be any table. If the table chosen is a student table like Demographic or Registration District-Defined, the data will be extracted individually for each student. If the table chosen is a building table like Buildings or Building District Defined, the data will be extracted using the student's building. For all other tables, the data will be extracted from a single record in the table. For the CELDT Previous Score fields, the Test-Level-Form can be chosen at each level. Only the Test Level is required to determine the subtest and the score.

Field	Description
Test Program ID	Choose the test program id for type of extract.
As Of Date	Enter the Date to indicate the date to determine program participation. The prompt may remain blank.
Building Groups	Select the Building Group(s) that you want to create the Pre-ID file for.
Test Purpose (CELDT Only)	Choose the table, page, and field from which to extract the Test Purpose. This is the table and field where the information is stored. The prompt may remain blank.
Address Type	Choose the address type from which to extract the parent's mailing address. Mailing Guardian
Current School Year	Check for current school year grade and building. Uncheck for next school year grade and building. Will always default to "checked". (Uncheck is used when end of year rollover has not taken place, when next year information is needed.)
Send Parental Information	Check if Parental Information is to be sent.
Zero Pad Student ID	Check if the Student Id should be padded with zeros to obtain 10 characters.
Delivery Name	Choose the table, page, and field from which to extract the Delivery Name. This is the table and field where the information is stored. The prompt may remain blank.
Delivery Code	Choose the table, page, and field from which to extract the Delivery Code. This is the table and field where the information is stored. The prompt may remain blank.
Local Use Field	Choose the table, page, and field from which to extract the Local Use Field. This is the table and field where the information is stored. The prompt may remain blank.
Customer Data	Choose the table, page, and field from which to extract the Customer Data Field for the parental portion of the file. This is the table and field where the information is stored. The prompt may remain blank.
Student Grade During Previous CELDT Administration	Choose the Test-Level-Form from which to extract the Student Grade during Previous CELDT Administration. The prompt may remain blank.
CELDT Previous Listening Scale Score	Choose the Test-Level-Form, Subtest, and Score field from which to extract the CELDT Previous Listening Scale Score. The prompt may remain blank.
CELDT Previous Speaking Scale Score	Choose the Test-Level-Form, Subtest, and Score field from which to extract the CELDT Previous Speaking Scale Score. The prompt may remain blank.
CELDT Previous Reading Scale Score	Choose the Test-Level-Form, Subtest, and Score field from which to extract the CELDT Previous Reading Scale Score. The prompt may remain blank.
CELDT Previous Writing Scale Score	Choose the Test-Level-Form, Subtest, and Score field from which to extract the CELDT Previous Writing Scale Score. The prompt may remain blank.
CELDT Previous Overall Scale Score	Choose the Test-Level-Form, Subtest, and Score field from which to extract the CELDT Previous Overall Scale Score. The prompt may remain blank.
