View Career Tech/Contact Hours

Menu path: Select Regulatory from the main menu, select Calculations submenu, select View Calculated PEIMS Data, and then select View Career Tech/Contact Hours.

You can review the data calculated by Career Tech/Contact Hours on this page that shows the Student CTE Data records with Contact Hours for the current school year. You can add Services or Contact Hours, and modify previously calculated Services or Contact Hours. You can also use this page to enter the Contact Hours to override the CTE program based on the Service ID for the student so that the service will not be re-calculated and remain as is. This data is also used in the 410 Attendance Verification Report.

If you need to correct the data, change the required attendance criteria and then run the Career Tech/Contact Hours (menu path: select Regulatory from the main menu, select Calculations submenu, select Calculations, and then select Career Tech/Contact Hours). This calculation populates only the Contact Hours data.

FieldsDescription
OverrideAutomatically selected if the student CTE record values are changed to override in the Career Tech/Contact Hours calculation.
Start DateIndicates the date when the student CTE program started.
End Date

Indicates the date when the student CTE program ended.

Note: When calculating the end date of the CTE service, the end date is set as the first date that the student is not in the service.
In the case of the last day of membership, the end date is set to the following day. This is to ensure that attendance is being properly accounted for, without having to do extra calculations to determine if the end date is the last membership day.
Setting it to the date of the following day also ensures that the records are accurate.

For example, a student that would end the service on 5-25 would have an end date of 5-26. However, assigning the end date to the last membership day would also yield an end date of 5-26 when the student ended service on 5-26 (the last membership date). As you can see, the records would look the same, even though the end dates of service are different.

Contact Hours

Select the number of contact hours for the student's CTE courses.

Program records for contact hours are calculated by the Career Tech/Contact Hours option. If you change this value and want to override the calculation, select Override. For example, if a student is placed in a DAEP/JJAEP for a period of time, you would create a program record for the date range with contact hours of 0 and select Override.

Additional Information

The Contact Hours field on the PEIMS Career and Technology (Program) page serves as an override for 0 contact hours time periods (student in DAEP, and so on). The CTE calculation is not updating that field as Contact Hours are now reported at the Service ID level. Any value that was previously entered on the PEIMS Career and Technology (Program) screen will remain unchanged after the CTE Calculation is run. The Student CTE Data page (menu path: select Regulatory from the main menu, select Calculations submenu, select View Calculated PEIMS Data, and then select View Career Tech/Contact Hours) reflects the contact hours by Service ID that will be submitted for the student.
