Glossary of Abbreviations and Acronyms
The following abbreviations and acronyms are used throughout this documentation. This is not a complete list of all abbreviations or acronyms.

CTE | Career and Technical Education. |
EDIT+ | Web-based software application that schools use to submit PEIMS data via the internet. |
ECDS | Early Childhood Data System. |
ECHS | Early College High School. |
eDM | eScholar Data Manager data loader. The eDM loads data from a file to the ODS. |
EOC | End-of-Course. |
ESL | English as a Second Language. |
ESC | Education Service Center. |
ESY | Extended School Year. |
FHSP | Foundation High School Program. This program refers to graduation requirements for the state. |
HB5 | House Bill 5. Refers to the Foundation High School Program. |
LEA | Local Education Agency. |
LEP | Limited English Proficient. |
ODS | Operational Data Store. The central district-controlled data repository for TSDS. |
OFSDP | Optional Flexible School Day Program. |
PEIMS | Public Education Information Management System |
SSA | Shared Service Arrangement. |
STAAR | State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness. This set of tests replaced the TAKS test. |
TAKS | Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. TAKS assessments measure the extent to which a student has learned and is able to apply the defined knowledge and skills at each tested grade level. This test is now replaced with STAAR. |
TEDS | Texas Education Data Standards. TEDS is a collection of data standards based on the national Ed-Fi XML core for loading data to TSDS. |
TIMS | The Texas Student Data System (TSDS) Incident Management System is a web-based system to submit incidents when you encounter problems, have questions about TSDS applications, or want to request software enhancements. |
TELPAS | Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System. Standardized test to assess the progress that limited (LEP) make in learning the English language. |
TREx | Texas Records Exchange. Web-based software application for the exchange of electronic student records. |
TSDS | Texas Student Data System. TSDS PEIMS is the new software application for the state's Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). |
