Set up Report Cards for Home Access

Your district can display report card information in HAC as this data becomes available. For example, you can turn off the report card feature while teachers are submitting grades and then turn it on once report cards are generated. As an option, you can allow guardians and students to request that email alerts be sent to let them know report cards have been issued. You can also display a button in HAC's Report Cards page to enable guardians and students to print report cards in PDF format.

Allowing guardians and students to view report cards

In Home Access Center Building Configuration (menu path: Administration – HAC Setup – Setup – HAC Building Configuration – click the Building link)

For each building, in the Configuration panel's Mark Reporting section, select the following options as needed for guardians, students, or both:

  • Show Report Cards

    • Select Enable Electronic Signature to enable signatures for Parents for Report Cards

  • Show Student Competencies

  • Show Course Competencies

  • Show Current, Semester, Cumulative Credit

  • Show Current, Semester, Cumulative GPA's

  • Show Honor Roll Message

  • Show Print Button

  • Show Progress

Allowing guardians and students to print report cards

For each building, in the Configuration panel's Mark Reporting section, check the following box as needed for guardians, students, or both:

  • Show Print Button

Enabling email alerts for report cards

In Home Access Center Building Configuration (menu path: Administration – HAC Setup – Setup – HAC Building Configurationclick the Building link)

For each building, in the Email Alerts panel's Report Card Alerts section, select the following options as needed:

  • Send to Guardians

    • All

    • All Unsigned

    • None

    • Subscribed

  • Send to Students

    • All

    • None

    • Subscribed

Complete the Report Card Alerts section's additional fields to specify the frequency and content of the alerts.

Additional Requirements

  • Complete all requirements for generating the report card data warehouse. For a list of prerequisites, refer to the Generate RC Data Warehouse page.

  • Run the Generate RC Data Warehouse option (menu path: Mark Reporting – Utilities – Build Report Card Data – Generate RC Data Warehouse).

  • To allow users to print report cards in HAC, report cards must be generated in the Print Report Cards option (menu path: Mark Reporting – Entry & Reports – Report Card Reports – Print Report Cards) with a check entered in the Home Access Center Upload checkbox. This creates a PDF in the eSchoolPlus Attachments database.
