Career Cruising Page: Download Mode

Use the Download mode of this page to create the download files required for interfacing building, course catalog, student, and student course information with Career Cruising.
This download processes all buildings and active courses in your district, including courses from the District Course Catalog, where the building is -1. To limit the students for whom student demographic and student course data is downloaded, use a filter that selects the appropriate students.
The demographic information that is downloaded includes the student's Home Access Center password. If your district encrypts passwords, then the student's password will be encrypted in the data file.
The CACDL - Career Cruising Download download definition specifies how data will be downloaded for Career Cruising. Do not edit this interface.
Prerequisites
Use the ( Administration > General Setup > District > Validation Tables) option to define records for the following Registration validation tables:
Career Cruising Building Types | Defines how the download converts the eSchoolPlus building types to Career Cruising school types. If a building's building type has not been converted, it will not be included in the School.txt file. Refer to Registration Validation Tables for information on the Career Cruising Building Types table. |
Career Cruising Mark Types | Selects the mark types to include in the StudentCourses.txt file. You can include up to five mark types. If you select a mark type that is issued multiple times per course, the most recent mark will be downloaded. Refer to Registration Validation Tables for information on the Career Cruising Mark Types. |
Download data for Career Cruising Integration
- Select Administration > Utilities > Integration> Career Cruising Utility > click Download.
- Specify the utility options.
- Click Run.
Use the Tasks/Reports options on the Navigation bar to view task status and retrieve reports.
Fields
Prompts Panel
Field | Description |

Create All Download Files | Checked if you want the download to create all files. This box is automatically unchecked if you uncheck one of the boxes below it. |
Building File (School.txt) | Checked if you want to download the building information for the School.txt file. This file contains information for all the schools in the district, to be loaded into the School table in Career Cruising. For information on the data included in this file, refer to School.txt. |
Course Catalog File (CourseMaster.txt) | Checked if you want to download all the course catalog's active courses for the CourseMaster.txt file. For information on the data included in this file, refer to CourseMaster.txt. |
Student File (Student.txt) | Checked if you want to download the student demographic information for students in the Student.txt file. To select the students to include in the download, use the Filter panel. |
Student Course File (StudentCourses.txt) | Checked if you want to download the student course and mark information for students in the StudentCourses.txt file. To select the students to include in the download, use the Filter panel. For information on the data included in this file, refer to StudentCourses.txt. Note that the GradeMark field will not be populated because eSchoolPlus supports multiple final mark types. You need to inform Career Cruising which of the five mark types to use as the final mark for the courses. |
Sort Panel
Use the Sort panel to specify how records should be ordered in a report. You enter lines of sort criteria; the system compares your sort criteria against the corresponding fields in the records being searched and displays records in either ascending or descending order based on the sort fields.
