Add District-Defined Security Resources

Create district-defined security resources to provide unique access to a district-defined or program-tracked field. A unique resource lets you have more control when granting users access to a field storing sensitive information.

Either add a new subpackage and resource to an existing package or add a new resource to an existing package and subpackage.

Security subpackages and resources are added on the Validation Tables page.

Add a district-defined subpackage

  1. Select Administration > General Setup > District > Validation Tables.
  2. In the Selections panel's Application field, select Security.
  3. In the Validation Table field, select Subpackages.
  4. In the blank row at the bottom of the page, add the new subpackage.
  5. Click Save.

Add a district-defined resource

  1. Determine which package and subpackage you are going to assign to the resource. You must know and enter these codes exactly when you add the resource.
  2. Select Administration > General Setup > District > Validation Tables.
  3. In the Selections panel's Application field, select Security.
  4. In the Validation Table field, select Resources.
  5. In the blank row at the bottom of the page, add the new resource. The Package and Subpackage fields are not validated. Make sure you enter the codes exactly as they are defined in the security validation tables.
  6. Click Save.
