Pathway Endorsement Seal

The default eSchoolPlus transcript template, TranscriptPrintTemplate.rpx, allows you to include the different Pathway Endorsement seals on a student transcript by selecting the Include transcript seal as image option for the Transcript Seal field. You can also not print the Pathway Endorsement seals on a student transcript by selecting the Exclude transcript seal option.

The following sections provide a procedural outline for implementing and using this feature, details on the Pathway Endorsement Seal student district-defined page, and instructions for uploading the official ISBE image files that print on the student transcript.

Procedural Outline

Before you can print the Pathway Endorsement seal on student transcripts, verify the following prerequisites are met:

1. Each building needs a Transcript View Setup (menu path: select Administration from the main menu, select Mark Reporting Setup submenu, select View Setup, and then select Transcript View Setup) with View Type of T - Transcript. The setup needs to use the default Report Template or a copy of the template that includes the components for printing the ISBE seals and the students' qualifying languages. Either make sure the view has Use Default Template selected, or confirm the template is based on TranscriptPrintTemplate.rpx, which has the pathway endorsement seal components.
2. After you receive the image files from ISBE for the pathway endorsement, make sure both files meet the format requirements described in Uploading Transcript Image Files.
3. After the image files are correctly formatted, follow the procedure in Uploading Transcript Image Files.
4. Update student progress toward pathway endorsement on the Pathway Endorsement Seal page.
5. You can print student transcripts and show the pathway endorsement information at this point.

Menu path: Select Mark Reporting from the main menu, select Entry & Reports submenu, select Transcript Reports, and then select Print Transcripts.

Menu path: Select Mark Reporting from the main menu, select Entry & Reports submenu, select Student, and then select Transcript Summary. You must select Additional Options and then select Print Student Transcript Summary.

Pathway Endorsement Seal Student Entry

Menu path: Select Registration from the main menu, select Entry & Reports submenu, select Student District Defined, and then select Pathway Endorsement Seal.

Use this page to select the pathway endorsement a student mastered in the Graduation Pathway program. The Print Transcripts page uses these entries to determine if the Pathway Endorsement Seal should show on the student's printed transcript. Make sure you follow the additional prerequisites described in the Procedural Outline. 

To receive the Pathway Endorsement seal on the printed transcript, the student must complete the following prerequisites.

• The 2 Team-based Challenges requirement must be passed or fulfilled.
• The 6 Hours of Early College Credit requirement must be passed or fulfilled.
• The Career Development Experience value from the ISBE CCRI Data page must be 01.
• The Ready for Non-remedial Coursework in Reading and Math value from the ISBE CCRI Report page must be 01.

  • AP or IB Exam Academic Indicator ELA OR Minimum ACT or SAT Subject Scores – English, Reading, and Writing from National Test Scores must be 01.

  • AP or IB Exam Academic Indicator Math OR Minimum ACT or SAT Subject Scores – Math from National Test Scores must be 01.

• The Career Exploration Activities State Code Equivalent values entered should match at least two State Code Equivalent values in the Activity setup to consider the requirement as passed or fulfilled.

These five prerequisites must be passed or fulfilled by the student to receive the Pathway Endorsement seal (selected out of the seven categories) in the printed transcript. If one or more prerequisites are not met by a student, then the seal will not be printed on the student’s transcript. If none of the seals is selected, then no seal will be printed on the transcript for the student and no errors will be logged, even if the student passes all the 5 parameters.

Uploading Transcript Image Files

The Illinois State Board of Education provides districts with the image files you need to show the Pathway Endorsement seal on student transcripts. Once you receive the images, verify they meet these formatting requirements:

• Save each image as a .gif file.
• Confirm the Pathway Endorsement Seal image files are named logo_AgriculturalFoodAndNaturalResources_BW_vector.gif, logo_ArtsAndCommunications_BW_vector.gif, logo_FinanceAndBusinessServices_BW_vector.gif, logo_HealthServicesTechnology_BW_vector.gif, logo_HumanAndPublicServices_BW_vector.gif, logo_InformationTechnology_BW_vector.gif, and logo_ManufacturingEngineeringTechnologyAndTrades_BW_vector.gif.
• Resize each image so it measures 2" x 2". This is the absolute height and width, also described as the print size in image editors.

Once you confirm these prerequisites, you can upload each image to your application server:

1. Select Administration from the main menu, select General Setup submenu, select District, and then select District.
2. Click Additional options, and then select Upload Transcript Seal image.
3. Click Browse, locate and select the image file, and then click Open.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Cancel to close the Upload Transcript Seal Image page.
