ISBE ISCS Information

Menu path:     From the Scheduling menu, choose Courses, choose District Courses, and then select ISBE ISCS Information

 From the Scheduling menu, choose Courses, choose Building Courses, and then select ISBE ISCS Information.

 From the Scheduling menu, choose Courses, choose Course Sections, and then select ISBE ISCS Information. 


The information on the ISBE ISCS Information page is used in the Illinois State Course System (ISCS) files. You can update the data at the Course Catalog level and then it will default to the Master Schedule level if you create courses from the Course Catalog. Or you can update the data at the Master Schedule level only.

FieldsDescription
CTE FlagSelect if this course is a CTE course.
Course LevelSelect the appropriate course level or rigor level.
Course SettingSelect the course setting for this course.
Dual CreditSelect if the course receives Dual Credit. You may override this at a student level if necessary. See the ISBE ISCS Student Course Overrides section for information on this.
Articulated CreditSelect if the course receives Articulated Credit.  You may override this at a student level if necessary. See the ISBE ISCS Student Course Overrides section for information on this.
Max Grade (numeric) OverrideIf a course has a maximum grade that is different from other courses in the building, enter the override maximum grade for the course here. If there is no value here, the value will come from the ISBE ISCS Grade page.
Outplaced State Course CodeIf you have records in the Master Schedule for Outplaced courses, you can enter the State Course Code here. Otherwise, you will update this only for Outplaced courses entered as Transfer Courses on the Transcript Summary. See the Entering Outplaced Student Courses for ISBE ISCS File section for more information.
Exclude Course in ISCS

Select to exclude course for student from the ISCS download processing.

Note: You can exclude course at Course level, Student Schedule level, or Student Course level.

  • To exclude the course from extract for all the enrolled students in a district or building, navigate to the menu path: From the Scheduling menu, choose Courses, choose District Courses, and then select ISBE ISCS Information. On the ISBE ISCS Information page, select Exclude Course in ISCS.
  • To exclude the course from extract for all the enrolled students for a particular course, navigate to the menu path: From the Scheduling menu, choose Courses, choose Course Sections Courses, and then select ISBE ISCS Information. On the ISBE ISCS Information page, select Exclude Course in ISCS.
  • To exclude the course from extract for a specific student for a particular course, navigate to the menu path: From the Scheduling menu, choose Student Schedules, choose Student, and then select Student Entry. On the Student Search Results page, select the Student Name link, click the Course Name link, open the Date Range Detail pane, select Other Student Course Information, and click ISBE ISCS. On the ISBEISCS page, select Exclude Course in ISCS.
Section Number Override

Enter the section number if you want to override the master schedule section number and match it with the section number with Career Area center.

The section number override is processed for Student Course Assignment.

Serving School RCDTS OverrideSelect the Serving School to see if the student has an active program vector as of the Reporting Date for the RCDTS Override.
IPEDSSelect the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) college or university for annual institution-level data collections.
Course Credit ReportedEnter the course credit reported for the student.
Quarterly Marks

When this setting is selected, the marking period for Final Grade will be added to the end of the Course Section to make it a unique record within the semester term.

Language Course was Taught InSelect the language in which the course was taught.
Competency Based EducationMandatory. Select 01 - Yes if the course was for a competency-based education, or 02 - No, or NR - No Report if the course is nor reported.

Quarterly Marks Processing

If terms are set up as semesters and the school reports quarter marks, then select the Quarterly Marks checkbox.

Normally, when the Teacher Course Assignment, Student Course Assignment or College Course Assignment are run, only one record is generated for the term even though the grades are reported quarterly, because the Student ID, RCDTS Home, Course ID, Course Section and Term must be unique for a single record.

When the Quarterly Mark flag is checked on the Master Schedule record, the Making Period that the Final Grade is received is added to the end of the Course Section to create a unique record for each Quarter Mark.  The Course Start Date and Course End Date will reflect the start and end date of the marking period.
