ISBE CCRI Setup

Menu path: Select Administration from the main menu, select General Setup submenu, select District District Defined, and then select ISBE CCRI Setup.

This page is used to set values where applicable for the Student College and Career Readiness Indicator (CCRI) Data collection. Use this page to set up Thresholds, Data Sources for Indicators, and Selections for Course, Test, and Activities. The ISBE CCRI Setup page is used for the calculation of the ISBE Student CCRI Data page.

Each Indicator has a Data Source selection that will allow you to choose the page that the download will use for the data. The data sources are:

Menu path: Select Registration from the main menu, select Entry & Reports submenu, select Student District Defined, and then select ISBE CCRI Data.

Menu path: Select Registration from the main menu, select Entry & Reports submenu, select Student District Defined, and then select ISBE College Career Readiness Indicator.

ISBE College Career Readiness Indicator Setup

Since not all districts will track the indicator from the CCRI Data page, some prompts are not required, and do not need to be filled out. The calculation continues processing, marking those indicators as NR - No Report for that year. It would be common to have no settings for an indicator if the district is using the ISBE College and Career Readiness Indicator page.

The College and Career Ready Indicator (CCRI) is composed of multiple points of data. Many data points are currently collected (for example, SAT composite score and course assignments entered into the Student Information System [SIS]), while others will require additional collection efforts by districts. SIS has been updated to include the new data points. The indicator recognizes cumulative achievements, so data may be added to SIS at any time. Except where specifically required (for example, “95 percent attendance junior and senior year”), districts may include all years of high school to recognize data points, such as community service, “career development experience,” “dual credit,” and “consistent employment.” Information gathered for CCRI should be used to guide students, families, schools, and communities. Districts may want to consider adding recognition of CCRI achievement on student records and transcripts.

Career Development Experiences may include any of the following provided the experience meets the definitional criteria: internship, school-based enterprise, supervised agricultural experience, work-based learning, cooperative education, research apprenticeship, remote work for a client or employer, student-led enterprise, or youth apprenticeship.

Students whose experience was interrupted in March, April or May of 2020 by COVID-19 related school and/or business closures or layoffs may receive credit on this indicator for the interrupted experience. The district will collect and compile the initial data prior to submitting aggregate “yes” or “no” data to ISBE through the College and Career Indicator Report.

The Career Development Courses input will be a comma separated list of all State Code Equivalents of courses equated to a supervised work experience relating to the student’s career area of interest. The Career Development Marks input is a comma separated list of all the marks that represent a student completing the requirements for Career Development Experience.

A student must, depending upon the requirements of the recognized industry credential, either receive the license or be eligible to receive a license pending the receipt of a high school diploma. A credential issued by a postsecondary education provider is not an “industry credential”; however, the coursework for the credential may qualify as a Dual Credit Career Pathway Course and will often prepare students for an industry credential examination.

The district will collect and compile the initial data prior to submitting aggregate “yes” or “no” data to ISBE through the College and Career Indicator Report.

Use this field to select the data source page (ISBE CCRI Data or ISBE College Career Readiness Indicator) that the download will use for the Military Service ASVAB data.

A student has four ways to meet this indicator by achieving an ASVAB score of 31 or higher; making a commitment to serve in the Armed Services; enlisting for split training, which entails enlistment at age 17 as a junior with permission of a parent or guardian, attendance at Basic Combat Training before senior year, training one weekend per month through senior year with a local unit, and planned attendance at Advanced Individual Training after senior year; and participating in Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.

Students whose experience was interrupted in March, April or May of 2020 by COVID-19 related school and/or business closures or layoffs may receive credit on this indicator for the interrupted experience. These competencies should be assessed based on how students apply and integrate into actions. Multiple years of the same activity do no represent different activities – for example, multiple years of a sport, multiples years on student council.
