PEIMS Restraints Page
Menu path: From the Registration menu, choose Entry & Reports, choose Student Demographic, and then select PEIMS Restraints.
Use this page to record child restraints for emergencies for students, special education, or otherwise. This data is reported as part of the PEIMS Restraint-related TX_435 record.
| Fields | Description |

| Instance Number (e1035) | Sequential number identifying a restraint record. |
| Building (e1032) | Choose the building where the child was restrained. If the restraint instance does not occur on a school campus, report the student's enrollment building. |
| Event Date (e1034) | Date that the student was restrained. The system validates that the student has a Special Education Indicator for the date if the Staff Type = 01 – School district/Charter School employee or volunteer. |
| Reason (e1033) | Choose the reason the student was restrained. |
| Staff Type (e1516) | Indicates the type of staff person who restrained the student. If you select 01 – School district/Charter School employee or volunteer, the following rules apply:
When you create download records, a warning logs if the record does not meet these rules. |
| Instructional Setting (e1073) | This field is blank when you add a restraint record. After you save the record, this displays on the event date. |
| Primary Disability (e0041) | This field is blank when you add a restraint record. After you save the record, this displays on the event date. This cannot be 00 – No Disability if Staff Type = 01. |
| Special Education Indicator (e0794) | Display-only setting indicating if the student participates in a special education instructional and related services program or a general education program using special education support services, supplementary aids, or other special arrangements. This is Y if the Staff Type = 01 – School district/Charter School employee or volunteer. |
| Non-Membership Disc Restraint (e1725) | Select the discipline incident or restraint event being reported for a special education student enrolled but not in membership. |
