Auto or Manual Saving for Gradebook

Teacher Access Settings support the ability to choose whether scores are saved automatically or manually. When Auto Save is enabled, the Save button does not display on the Gradebook or Student Rubric Score Entry pages.

The Gradebook Entry and Student Rubric Score Entry pages page can be configured to save scores three ways:

• Auto save scores immediately upon entry.
• Manual save of entered scores.
• Manual save with periodic auto saves configurable from one to 99 minutes.

Each configuration has its advantages. Auto save is convenient, but since it accesses the database to update scores each time a score is entered, it has the greatest system performance impact. Manual save requires you to save after you have entered scores, but it has the least impact on system performance. Manual save with periodic auto saves offers a balance of convenience and performance.
