Rank Calculation Page

Use this option to calculate class ranks based on the GPA setups for your district. You must calculate GPA information before you run the Rank Calculation. Then you can run the Rank Report to print the class rank information.

Prerequisite

Run the Mark Reporting > Utilities > Calculations > GPA Calculation to make sure that student GPA information is current.

Run Rank Calculation

Select Mark Reporting > Utilities > Calculations > Rank Calculation.
Specify the calculation options.
Click Run.
Use the Tasks/Reports options on the Navigation bar to view task status and retrieve reports.

Fields

Prompts Panel

Field	Description
Building	Select the building of the students for whom you want to calculate class rank. If you select to calculate rank for a GPA type that is set up to be ranked district-wide in the GPA Setup, the rank calculation will process all students in the selected grades in any building within the district.
School Year	Select the school year for which you want to calculate class rank. Note that Rank Calculation only calculates rank for the year selected in the School Year field.
Student Grade List	Select the grades for the students for whom you want to calculate class rank. Select codes from the field's drop-down list, or click (asterisk) to select all codes, then remove any that do not apply.
Run For	Select whether you want to run the rank calculation only for the selected period or for the selected period and any prior periods for the specified school year. Select: Only for Prompted RC Run/Term/Year - to calculate ranks for the selected period for the GPA type. Everything Through the Prompted RC Run/Term/Year - to calculate rank for all prior GPA records for the year through the selected period. For example, if you have a GPA type that is stored by term, you can calculate rank for all terms in the year by selecting this option and then selecting the last term of the year in the GPA Types fields.
GPA Type	Checked if you want to calculate the rank information for the GPA type. This section lists the GPA types issued in your district. For GPA types that are issued multiple times a year, a field displays to select the report card run or term you want to calculate.
