MSB Error Scan Page

Use this page to create a report that verifies course setup and student request information. Run the report before running the Build Master Schedule option so you can make any corrections necessary for scheduling students.

Run Master Schedule Builder Error Scan

  1. Select Scheduling > Courses > Master Schedule Builder > MSB Error Scan.
  2. Specify the processing options.
  3. Click Run.
  4. Use the Tasks/Reports options on the Navigation bar to view task status and retrieve reports.

Description

Building

Building to scan for errors.

Interval

The scheduling interval to scan for errors. The scheduling interval determines the requests and courses to scan.

Scan Resource Information

Checked if you want to verify rooms and teacher information. The error scan log prints errors if:

  • The resource code assigned to a course setup record is not valid.
  • Allocations for resource groups do not exceed the maximum for the total resources in the group.

Scan Course Information

Checked if you want to verify Course Setup information. The error scan log prints an error if:

  • The Course Setup record does not have a corresponding active record in the Course Catalog.
  • The course is a block, but there are course setup detail records.
  • The Course Setup has the Same Sections set to Y, and there is more than one course setup detail record.
  • The Course Setup has the Same Sections set to N, and the number of course setup detail records does not equal the value in Number of Sections.
  • The course is a block, but is included in the Combination field in a Course Setup record.
  • Blocked courses do not have blockettes.
  • Blockettes are only included in one block.
  • Blocks are not part of another block.

Scan Request Information

Checked if you want to verify Student Request information. The error scan log prints errors if:

  • The course does not have a course setup record.
  • The course requested has the Study Hall flag set to Y.
  • The course is designated as inactive in the Course Catalog.
  • The student does not meet the grade, gender, or house/team restrictions.
  • The student requested specific marking periods of the course and there are no meeting codes of the course setup records that meet during the requested marking periods.
