eSchoolPlus 24.2.0.0 Release

eSchoolShare NTFS Permissions

Previously, all users could access each other’s user folders outside of eSchoolPlus when accessing the shared UNC path directly. The user folder on the eSchoolShare was inheriting permissions from the root folder. The groups for eSchool users were granted at least read-only access to all user folders. Hence, the process is updated to remove the SMS (or eSchoolPlus) AD Group from inheriting permissions on user directories citing non-alignment with the access/security settings for the application.

eSchoolShare permission requirements have been modified to remove the granting of permission to WebSMS/WebSMS Admins (or eSchoolPLUS/eSchoolPLUS Admins), refer to the updated System Admin Guide.

Activity Setup

Users were not able to maintain the advisor assigned to an activity with the read/write resource REG-SETUP-ACTADVISOR. This has been resolved.

An error was occurring while searching plan areas on the Address page if the plan area has a development, and other plan areas exist without a development. Error occurred only if the current year and next year geo codes are different. This has been resolved.

Resolved an issue where the Contact Detail page could fail to correctly determine which building to check security against, preventing some users from saving the page.

Resolved an issue where the Generate Progress Data Warehouse process would output an incorrect “Total Number of Grades Processed” in the log file.

Notifications

In certain situations, DISCACTION notifications are being generated with metadata tags not being correctly replaced. This is causing some problems with the notifications viewer and being unable to delete the notifications. This has been resolved.

Resolved the Run Upload process to accurately interpret special characters like enye or accento from the text file.

Script Runner Utility

In an effort to improve the speed of software updates, eSPScriptRunner (utility that handles running database update scripts) has been modified to only run scripts that have not been run or have changed since their last run.

Note that the first update after this release will still run everything - as it builds the cache. Subsequent updates will be affected by the change.

Security Profile

Overriding the security role for the default building users was changing the building display in the resources panel of the Security Profile page. This has been resolved.

Student Scheduler

Modified how the student scheduler connects to the database to resolve a “Datetime field overflow” error that was occurring for databases that were set to a compatibility level higher than 2012.

TAC Performance

On the Performance page in TAC, when using a single or double quote after selecting the edit pencil icon, the field or page would disappear. This has been resolved.

Trends Reports

Resolved an issue where the Trends Reports would not retrieve absences if a student had multiple Entry Withdrawal vectors in the same calendar.
