Deleting Previous Year-End Rollover Backup Files

When you run a rollover, backup files are created on the application server that store rollover table data. Deleting backup files from prior years opens space to run current-year rollovers. The amount of data in your database determines the space required to create backup files. If there is insufficient space on the server, you will not be able to run the rollover.

To delete year end backup files:

  1. Open regedit and go to the following location (where X.Y is the version of eSchoolPlus they are running):
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sungard Pentamation, Inc.\eSchoolPlus\X.Y
  2. Look at the value of the registry key named UserFileLoc and browse to that folder in Windows Explorer.
  3. Within that folder, navigate to the following directory and clean out the subdirectories that end with YearEnd:
    Backup\<Database>\District <District number>
