Copy Setups to a Building

You can create buildings by copying the setups from a similar building. For example, if most of the elementary schools in your district have the same setups, you can set up one building and then copy information to other buildings. This section describes the procedure to define a building using the Copy Setups utility.

The following details must be cautiously read and performed.

If you copy setups to a building that already has some setups defined, make sure that you copy setups from a building that has the same setups. For example, do not copy the Master Schedule from a building that has 2 cycle days to a building that has 6 cycle days.

If you are copying summer school information from one year to another and the summer school building is also a regular school year building, do not copy any Registration options or the State Courses option. You may overwrite data for the regular year because these options do not have a summer school flag.

  1. Define the building in the Building Configuration (menu path: Select Administration from the main menu, select Registration Setup submenu, select Building, and then select Building Definition).
  2. Select Administration from the main menu, select Utilities submenu, select Mass Entry & Update, and then select Copy Setups.
  3. On the Copy Setups page, select the building and school year from which you want to copy setups. Check the Summer School box if you want to copy from a summer school building.
  4. Then specify the building numbers to which you want to copy setups. Select the school year for which you want to set up the buildings. Check the Summer School box if you want to copy to the summer school environment.
  5. Select the options you want to copy. The following options apply when you are copying setups from building to building.
