Alternate Doses Page

Use this page to define which vaccinations (shots or combinations of shots) can serve as an alternate for a series. For example, if you have a DTP series, a student might receive either a DTP shot, DTAP shot, or TD shot to fulfill a single dose of the DTP series. Alternate doses typically are used when different shots can be used to fulfill a series, and the shots follow the same schedule and number of doses.

If a series has no alternate doses, then you do not enter information in this table, but set the Series Flag to checked in the Vaccinations table.

View alternate doses

1. Select Administration > Medical Setup > Setup > Alternate Doses.

Add a vaccination series for alternate doses

1. Select Administration > Medical Setup > Setup > Alternate Doses.
2. Click Add at the top right of the page.
3. Select the vaccination series.
4. Click OK.
5. To add alternate doses, refer to "Add alternate doses for a series" below.
6. Click Save.

Add alternate doses for a series

1. Select Administration > Medical Setup > Setup > Alternate Doses.
2. Click Add on the vaccination series panel.
3. Enter a description, and select the doses to include as the alternate dose.
4. Click Save.

Change alternate doses

1. Select Administration > Medical Setup > Setup > Alternate Doses.
2. Change values as needed.
3. Click Save.

Delete alternate doses for a series

1. Select Administration > Medical Setup > Setup > Alternate Doses.
2. Click

   

   (Delete) on an alternate dose section to select it for deletion.
3. Click Yes.

Delete all alternate doses for a series

1. Select Administration > Medical Setup > Setup > Alternate Doses.
2. Click 

   

    (Delete) on the vaccination series panel to select it for deletion.
3. Click Save.

Fields

Vaccination Panel

A separate panel displays for each vaccination series for which an alternate dose has been defined. The alternate doses for the vaccination display as separate sections within its panel.

You can only define an alternate dose for vaccinations which have been defined with the Series Flag box checked in the Vaccinations table.

Field	Description
Description	Description of the alternate dose.
Dose	Shot or list of shots that must all be given in order to be counted as one dose of this series. Select codes from the field's drop-down list, or click (asterisk) to select all codes, then remove any that do not apply.
