Dental Exam Entry

Add Dental Exam Results for a Single Student
- Select Medical > All > Student > Exams.
- If the Student Search page displays, search for the appropriate student, then click the student's name link.
- If the Dental panel displays, proceed to Step 4. If the Dental panel does not display, make sure the Dental box is checked in the Selections panel, then click Load.
- Click Add on the Dental panel.
- Enter the Test Date, and then click OK.
- Select the exam Location.
- Use the Pennsylvania Dental Information panel as follows:
- For an exam given by a school dentist, check any boxes in this panel that apply.
- For an exam given by a private dentist, check any of the following boxes that apply: Fluoride Mouth Rinse Program, Fluoride Tablet Program, and Topical Fluoride Program.
- If the exam results in a referral, select the appropriate Referral Code and Referral Date. For information on recording completion of a referral, see the procedure for Updating a Student Dental Exam Record.
- Based on your district's needs, update any remaining Dental panel fields.
- Click Save.
Add Dental Exam Results for Multiple Students
- Select Medical > All > Office > Dental.
- On the Prompts panel, select the building and test date. If you want to load default values for students, you can select a Default Location and Default Status.
- On the Selected Students panel, enter students by student ID or student name. To search for a student, click the Student Name field's Search to display the Student Search pop-up window. Select the desired student, and then click OK.
- Enter exam information as needed.
- To display the fields for Notes and referral entry, click Expand next to the appropriate Student ID.
- To enter a referral, select a Referral Code and Referral Date on the Referrals panel. For information on recording completion of a referral, see the procedure for Updating a Student Dental Exam Record.
- The Pennsylvania Dental Information fields are only available on the student Exams page (Medical > All > Student > Exams). After you finish this procedure, you can follow the Updating a Student Dental Exam Record procedure for individual students.
- Click Save.
Mass Load Dental Exam Results
- Select Medical > All > Office > Dental.
- On the Prompts panel, select the building and test date. If you want to load default values for students, you can select a Default Location and Default Status.
- Enter the appropriate criteria in the Filter panel. Then, click Load. For example, to display a list of students for homeroom 100, select Area: Demographic, Field Name: Primary Homeroom, Condition: = (Equals), and Value: 100.
- Review the list of students, and change exam information as needed.
- To change the status or location for a student, click in the field, and select a valid code.
- If a listed student was not examined or the student's exam record should be deleted, select the corresponding Delete checkbox.
- To display the fields for Notes and referral entry, click Expand next to the appropriate Student ID.
- To enter a referral, select a Referral Code and Referral Date on the Referrals panel. For information on recording completion of a referral, see the procedure for Updating a Student Dental Exam Record.
- The Pennsylvania Dental Information fields are only available on the student Exams page (Medical > All > Student > Exams). After you finish this procedure, you can follow the Updating a Student Dental Exam Record procedure for individual students.
- Click Save.
Update a Student Dental Exam Record
- Select Medical > All > Student > Exams.
- If the Student Search page displays, search for the appropriate students, then click the name link for the first record you want to update.
- On the Dental panel, click Expand next to the test Date you want to update.
- Use the Pennsylvania Dental Information panel as follows:
- For an exam given by a school dentist, check any boxes in this panel that apply.
- For an exam given by a private dentist, check any of the following boxes that apply: Fluoride Mouth Rinse Program, Fluoride Tablet Program, and Topical Fluoride Program.
- To record completion of a referral, select a Followup Code and Followup Date on the Referral Detail panel. This means the student's exam gets included in the SHARRS report's Referral Complete count.
- Click Save.
- On the Student Information bar, click Next to access the next student from your original list.
