This page lets you view and update program-tracked demographic information used in the NJ SLEDS SID and state submission files.

Field	Description
County – Resident	The New Jersey county where the student resides. (Program-tracked)
County – Attending	The county where the student is attending school. (Program-tracked)
School – Resident (override)	The resident school where the student would attend based on their permanent or other home address. (Program-tracked)
School – Attending (override)	The school where the student is currently attending. (Program-tracked)
District – Resident (override)	Student's resident district. (Program-tracked)
District – Attending (override)	District where the student is currently attending. (Program-tracked)
County – Receiving	The New Jersey county where the student is received if a sending/receiving relationship exists. (Program-tracked)
School – Receiving (override)	Students' receiving school if a sending/receiving relationship exists. (Program-tracked)
District – Receiving (override)	Students' receiving district if a sending/receiving relationship exists. (Program-tracked)
Tuition Code	Program-tracked indicator of the source of tuition payment for a student. If the Tuition Code is 06, then the student's Attending District must be defined as a Choice District in the District-defined screen. (Program-tracked)
Retained	Select if the student is repeating the current grade level.
Eighth Technological Literacy	Select if the student has met the 8^th Grade technological proficiency criteria per NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards 8.1. To meet this proficiency, the student either needs to take a district-level assessment or an evaluation as guided by the NJ Technology Assessment for Proficiency and Integration. (Program-tracked)
Resident Municipal Code	Student's resident municipality as defined by the NJ Department of the Treasury. (Program-tracked)
Immigrant Status	Indicates whether the student is categorized as an immigrant. To be classified as an "immigrant child or youth" based on NCLB law, the student needs to meet the following criteria: Aged 3 through 21. Not born in the United States. Not attending one or more schools in the United States for more than 3 full academic years. (Program-tracked)
Alternative Education	Indicates whether the student is enrolled in an alternative education program, defined as a comprehensive educational program delivered in a non-traditional learning environment that is both: Distinct and separate from the existing general or special education program. Designed to meet the needs of students at risk of school failure in their primary academic program. (Program-tracked)
Title I Science	Indicates whether the student is receiving or is scheduled to receive Title I services in support of Science instruction. (Program-tracked)
Title 1 Math	Indicates whether the student is receiving or is scheduled to receive Title I services in support of Math instruction. (Program-tracked)
Title 1 Language	Indicates whether the student is receiving or is scheduled to receive Title I services in support of Language Arts Literacy instruction. (Program-tracked)
NonPublic	Indicates whether the student has been parentally placed in a non-public school. The value shows whether the student is eligible for special education services. (Program-tracked)
Military Connected	Indicates that the student's parent or guardian is on Active Duty, in the National Guard, or in the Reserve components of the U.S. military services. (Program-tracked)
PARCC Student Identifier	Enter the PARCC Student ID.
Gifted/Talented	Indicates the student's status as gifted/talented. (Program-tracked)
ELA Graduation Pathway	Indicates status of the recent graduate's pathway to graduation for ELA. (Program-tracked)
Math Graduation Pathway	Indicates status of the recent graduate's pathway to graduation for Math. (Program-tracked)
Birthplace Information Refused	Select if a parent or guardian refused to provide birthplace information.
In District Placement	Indicates the reason for the placement is when a student is attending a school that is not his/her resident school within his/her resident district. SPECED - Student attends a specialized program for special education in a school that is not his/her resident school within his/her resident school district. ELL - Student attends a specialized program for English Language Learners in a school that is not his/her resident school within his/her resident school district. ALTREC - Student attends an alternative education program or a recovery high school program in a school that is not his/her resident school within his/her resident school district. ADULT - Student attends an adult high school for students pursuing a locally-issued, state-endorsed diploma in a school that is not his/her resident school within his/her resident school district. OTHER - Student attends a school that is not his/her resident school within his/her resident school district for any other reason. (Program-tracked)
Language Instruction Education	Indicates the course in which an English language learner (ELL) is placed to develop and attain English proficiency while meeting challenging State academic standards. 1 - Dual language 2 - Full Time Bilingual (Transitional) 3 - Bilingual alternative Programs 4 - English alternative Programs (Hi-Intensity, SEI) 5 - ESL Only or ELS 6 - Currently an ELL, but the ELL Program Services were refused by the parent/guardian (Program-tracked)
Biliterate	Indicates if graduating high school seniors achieved passing scores on both a World Language Assessment and an English Assessment to demonstrate they are biliterate as defined by the NJDOE. (Program-tracked)
World Language Assessment 1	Indicates the World Language Assessment 1 taken by the student, other than the English language assessment. Select the World Language Assessment 1 and then select the World Language Assessed 1 (specific language other than English that is being assessed). The World Language Assessments are: AAPPL - Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages ALIRA - ACTFL Latin Interpretive Reading Assessment AP - Advanced Placement language and culture exams (see Note section for more information) ASLPI - (ASL) American Sign Language Proficiency Interview IB - International Baccalaureate OPIWPT - Oral Proficiency Interview/ Oral Proficiency Interview by Computer (OPIc) and Writing Proficiency Test OPIOTHER - Oral Proficiency Interview/ Oral Proficiency Interview by Computer ® (OPIc) and Other Writing Assessment approved by DOE SLPIASL - Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI:ASL) STAMP - Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency WORLDSPEAK - Avant’s language proficiency test of less commonly taught languages OTHER (Program-tracked) As students may have taken more than one World Language Assessed, this element is repeatable and will appear in the portal as: WorldLanguagesAssessed1, WorldLanguagesAssessed2, WorldLanguagesAssessed3, WorldLanguagesAssessed4, WorldLanguagesAssessed5. Student Device Type	Select the type of device used by the student for remote learning: 1 - Chromebooks/laptops 2 - iPads/tablets 3 - Other 4 - Unknown 5 - None
Bridge Year	Select if the student plans to or is currently participating in the Bridge Year Pilot Program established under P.L. 2020 c.41, under which each school district with a high school shall offer students in the graduating class of 2021 and the graduating class of 2022 the opportunity to pursue a bridge year during the year immediately following their senior year of high school. C - Student has completed, or is no longer participating in, the bridge year program. P - Student has expressed intent to participate in the bridge year program in the following school year. Y - Student is pursuing a bridge year during the current school year. N - Student is not currently participating and has not expressed intent to participate in the bridge year program.
Federal HS Math Testing Req	Select if a student has met the federal requirement to take Algebra I (or one of the following exceptions) while in high school. A - Student registered for and/or took the Algebra I assessment in high school. B - Student registered for and/or took the DLM assessment in high school. C - Student took Algebra I in middle school and registered for and/or took the Geometry assessment in high school. D - Student took Algebra I in middle school and registered for and/or took the Algebra II assessment in high school. E - Student took Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II in middle school and took a more advanced mathematics assessment in high school. F - Student entered a New Jersey public school after 9th grade and took the equivalent of Algebra I in another state or at a non-public school. G - Student did not register for and/or take the Algebra I assessment in high school and does not fall under one of the exceptions listed above in B through F.
IEP Graduation Course Req	Select if the Individualized Education Program (IEP) of a student with a disability contains an exemption or modification to the state course requirement component of NJDOE graduation requirements. 1 - The student has an exemption or modification to course requirements. 2 - The student does not have an exemption or modification to course requirements.
IEP Graduation Attendance	Select if the Individualized Education Program (IEP) of a student with a disability contains an exemption or modification to the local attendance requirement component of NJDOE graduation requirements. 1 - The student has an exemption or modification to local attendance requirements. 2 - The student does not have an exemption or modification to local attendance requirements.
LIEP Language Of Instruction	Select the language of instruction for the Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP) course in which an English language learner (ELL) is placed to develop and attain English proficiency while meeting challenging State academic standards.
