A new descriptor, SPED Student Age Ranges, has been added to the code set value. The spedStudentAgeRangeDescriptor is utilized in the Sections and Staff Assignment resources.

1. New Descriptor:

   • spedStudentAgeRangeDescriptors has been added to the codesets.

2. New Elements:

   • spedStudentAgeRangeDescriptor has been added to the sections extension.

   • spedStudentAgeRangeDescriptor has been added to the staffEducationOrganizationAssignmentAssociations.staffServiceSets extension.

3. Logic for new elements:

   1. If Population Served ≠ ‘06’, SPEDStudentAgeRange = ‘00’.

   2. If Population Served = ‘06’ and Grade Level is ‘EE’ or ‘PK’, SPEDStudentAgeRange = ‘01’.

   3. If Population Served = ‘06’ and Grade Level is neither ‘EE’ nor ‘PK’, SPEDStudentAgeRange = ‘02’.

The issue where multiple elements in the Staff Section Association resource published incorrect values for a teacher handling multiple classes with the same service ID has been fixed.

A new field, CTEProgramSvcSets, has been added under the extension for the StudentCTEProgramAssociation resource, enabling the reporting of the CTE program service descriptor and the service begin/end dates.

Changes and Updates:

1. Common Types:

   • Deleted the common type SpecialEducationProgramService.

   • Added a new common type SPEDProgramSvcSet.

2. Data Elements:

   • Revised the data element name from SpecialEducationProgramService to SPEDProgramSvc.

   • Added SPEDProgramSvc as a key data element.

   • Added ServiceBeginDate as a key Ed-Fi data element.

   • Added ServiceEndDate as an optional Ed-Fi data element.

The LanguageInstructionProgramService under the PriorYearLeaver entity has been updated from languageInstructionProgramServices to langInstruProgramSvcDescriptor. This change is necessary to ensure data consistency and proper categorization within the Students category.

PowerSchool SIS: New AcceleratedInstructionSet Extension is added under StudentEducationOrganizationAssocoation

The StudentEducationOrganizationAssociation.AcceleratedInstructionSet resource has been updated to include new extension called Accelerated Instruction. This update allows for better tracking of student participation, assigned hours, completed hours, and reasons for any disparities between assigned and completed hours within educational organisations. The new data elements added are

1. AcceleratedInstructionSubject

2. StudentAcceleratedInstructionParticipation

3. AssignedHoursAcceleratedInstruction

4. CompletedHoursAcceleratedInstruction

5. DifferenceReasonHoursAcceleratedInstruction.

Additionally, a Boolean field for StudentAcceleratedEducationPlan has been included in DEX based on the presence of an entry for the accelerated instruction program for each student.
